Important allergen information

Our workshops take place in a shared space where dairy, gluten, nuts, and other common allergens are regularly used. Because of this, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

We may be able to make small adjustments in some cases, however this is not always possible due to the shared nature of our workshops. If you have specific dietary requirements, please email us before booking so we can discuss available options and advise whether the workshop will be suitable.

We will always do our best to support you where we can, while keeping everyone’s safety in mind.

Do you offer private/ corporate events or workshops?

Yes! We would love to host private workshops for your team or special occasion. Whether it’s a corporate event, celebration, or social gathering, we can tailor the experience to your group. Please reach out to us via email with your event details.

General Information

Does your matcha contain any additives or preservatives?

No. All of our matcha is produced from 100% pure Japanese green tea leaves (tencha) with no additives, fillers, sweeteners, or preservatives.

How should I store matcha to keep it fresh?

To keep your matcha vibrant and flavourful, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from heat, light, and humidity. For long-term freshness, refrigeration is highly recommended. Once opened, matcha is best enjoyed within 2–3 months.

Does matcha expire?

Matcha has a best-before date and will slowly lose colour, aroma, and flavour over time. Unopened matcha can stay fresh for many months when stored properly.

Once opened, it is best enjoyed within 2–3 months, as exposure to air, light, and heat speeds up oxidation. While matcha doesn’t “spoil” in a harmful way, it will become dull and less flavourful as it ages.

Why are there clumps in my matcha?

Matcha can naturally clump due to static and humidity. Using a quality matcha whisk (made from bamboo or resin) helps break up fine clumps and disperse the powder evenly as you whisk. Sifting your matcha before preparing it is also an effective way to prevent clumps. We recommend using a fine-mesh matcha sieve for the smoothest result.

If you would love to dive deeper into technique, you’re always welcome to join our matcha workshop for a hands-on experience.

How do I care for my matcha whisk (chasen)?

Rinse your whisk with warm water immediately after use to remove matcha before it dries. Avoid soap, as it can damage the bamboo and affect the flavour of your tea. Gently shake off excess water and let it air-dry with the tines facing down on a whisk stand.

As whisk is made from natural bamboo, the tines will gradually open and soften over time — this is normal and part of its natural lifespan.
