KIWAMI / Asahi Cultivar First Harvest Uji Matcha (30g)
KIWAMI is a first-harvest, single-cultivar Asahi matcha from Wazuka, Kyoto, in the greater Uji region. Grown predominantly in this area, Asahi is an exceptionally rare cultivar, representing less than 1% of Japan’s total tea production. It is notoriously delicate and demanding to cultivate, reserved primarily for high-end, competition-grade matcha.
Long favoured for traditional tea ceremony preparation, Asahi is best experienced in its purest form, whisked with water only, without milk or sweeteners, allowing its velvety, smooth texture and distinctive, intense umami flavour to unfold fully.
KIWAMI is sourced from a family-operated farm in Wazuka, where it is cultivated without pesticides or herbicides.
